Alfred Hitchcock Presents
"A Little Sleep"

Barbara Cook, Jack Mullaney

The Mungo brothers have a problem: one of them is adept at putting people 'to sleep'. When a bored, hip-swingin' party girl decides she wants to go check out the mountain cabin her uncle bequeathed her, she runs into a wayside diner and the eldest Mungo brother. Seems there's a little disturbance in town - a late night search for a murderer. Ed Mungo warns Barbie that it's not safe in them thar hills. Ah, but Barbie's looking for some fun so she just tosses her long hair and swings her hips on out of the diner. At the cabin, she discovers Benny Mungo (Vic) has already made himself at home. But hey, he's good-looking and she's a bimbo so she swings those hips again and cozies up to him. So what if he's 'slow', he's a man and she's irresistible (so she thinks). Things go pretty well until the angry older brother shows up. Seems it's gotten late and time for someone to go to sleep. Vic's performance gives several shades to the 'slow' brother - I might have missed some of his subtle changes of expression if I hadn't snapped the pics. Boy, he was good! This show is kinda corny, (this chick shakes her hips so much she reminds me of the hula doll my uncle used to have on the dashboard of his Ford Fairlaine), but it's fun - especially, Hitchcock's commentaries. It's sure to show up on TV Land, so keep an eye on out for it.
